We’re growing our presence across North America and looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join the KENRAY team.

With more than 40 years of experience, KENRAY designs and manufactures forming sets and tooling for VFFS and HFFS packaging machinery, supporting food, pharmaceutical and packaging businesses around the world.

We already have an established customer base across North America, but we see significant potential for further growth. As part of the next stage of our international development, we’re looking for a US-based Technical Sales Engineer to help us strengthen existing relationships, develop new opportunities and provide hands-on technical support to customers across the USA and Canada.

A Sales Role with a Technical Difference

This isn’t a traditional sales position. The successful candidate will become a key face of KENRAY in North America, combining business development with practical technical support and service.

You’ll spend time getting to know our customers, understanding their packaging challenges and identifying opportunities where KENRAY can help. You’ll also work directly with customers on site, providing troubleshooting, technical support, installation assistance and optimisation.
Working closely with our Group Sales Manager, Product Applications Manager and wider technical teams in the UK, you’ll have the expertise and support of KENRAY’s experienced engineering team behind you.

The role will include:

Developing relationships with new and existing customers across North America
Identifying and converting opportunities within End User and OEM markets
Understanding customer requirements and developing appropriate technical solutions
Preparing technical proposals and quotations
Providing field service, troubleshooting and technical support
Supporting installation, commissioning and optimisation
Assisting with warranty investigations and more complex technical issues
Sharing customer and market insight with our UK Engineering, Applications and R&D teams
Helping grow KENRAY’s presence throughout the USA and Canada

Who Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for someone who can combine technical understanding with commercial ability and, importantly, has a genuine appetite to learn.
You’ll need experience in technical sales, sales engineering, field service or another technical customer-facing role, together with a strong mechanical or engineering foundation and practical problem-solving skills.
You’ll be comfortable working directly with customers in manufacturing and production environments and confident building long-term professional relationships.

Experience within the packaging industry, particularly VFFS or HFFS, food or pharmaceutical packaging, would be highly advantageous, but it isn’t essential. We’re equally interested in finding someone with the right technical aptitude, commercial mindset and willingness to develop their expertise.
This is a US-based position, so applicants must currently be based in the United States and able to travel extensively throughout the USA and Canada.

Talking All Things Snack Packaging

Throughout the show, our team had some great conversations about the challenges facing today’s snack manufacturers and the role that the right packaging tooling can play in overcoming them.

From maintaining pack quality at high production speeds to reducing film waste and getting the best performance from changing packaging materials, it was great to hear first-hand what businesses are experiencing on their production lines.
We were also able to share more about the ways KENRAY supports packaging operations beyond the manufacture of new forming sets, including refurbishment, film testing, technical support and training.

Supporting the Changing Needs of the Snack Industry

The snack packaging sector continues to evolve, with manufacturers looking for ways to improve efficiency while responding to changing materials, sustainability requirements and increasing production demands.
These changes can place new demands on packaging machinery and tooling.
At KENRAY, we work closely with customers to understand the complete application, from the machine and forming set through to the film and finished pack. This allows us to develop solutions designed around the specific requirements of each production environment.
